Feather Headdresses and Festival Fun

'encompass the decadent and mischievous spirit of festival fun'

So the festival season is well & truly underway (scream!) and with the whimsical wonder that is Secret Garden Party fast approaching you'll need more than a fancy pair of Hunter wellies to stand out from the crowd.

We've been on the look out for some fabulous festival wear and when this beautiful headdress was sent in we knew it was gonna make for a killer outfit. Feather headdresses are BIG this year and this one from independent label I am Howling Wolf is totally amaze and will be perfect for all night dancing by the SGP lake!

The outfit is a mixture of vintage and high street. We found this beautiful cream dress in Beyond Retro.  Its simple so lets the headdress do the talking, its midi length is totally on trend and most importantly its lace, so perfect for an English garden party! We've teamed it with a tooled leather bag also from BR and a pair of Topshop sandals. The antique gold jewellery finishes the look perfectly.

Now we just have to pray for a little bit of sunshine! GG x

Haus furniture boutique-Victoria Park Village

Haus is not the kind of place you expect to find in your local parade of shops. Situated in the lovely Victoria Park Village and teeming with style, it offers high end, contemporary furniture, lighting and homewares from classic brands such as Eames, Kartell and Ercol.

The dream would be to deck your entire humble abode from somewhere like this, but for most of us it's the perfect place for that 'statement piece' such as the beautiful Eames rocker chair that caught my eye. We echo the Haus principle that we'd rather have a few 'good' things that will stand the test of time and grow old with us and that is exactly what you'll find here.

There is also a great selection of smaller items which would make perfect gifts such as the quirky Moomin mugs and the beautifully understated Eames House Bird by Vitra. The crinkled cups by Rob Brandt for Thorsten Van Elten were a favourite of mine and I was surprised to find out they were originally designed in the 1970s! Proof that great design stands the test of time.

All of the items have been carefully selected by husband and wife team Andrew and Jane Tye who use their experience and expertise to curate a highly desirable collection. And if you can't get down to the shop check out the website which is packed with even more beautiful things.
